The School of Rainy Season
Bangladesh, the land of ours, is blessed with six seasons. The most of which is undoubtedly the rainy season. This season has lent charm to her beauty and to her being. The economy of Bangladesh, the way of life of the people of the country and the very independence largely depend on the sweet role of the season. The season, though mostly by needed for our life and existence, has some disadvantages, too.
Generally Ashar and Shraban are called the rainy season, but the fact is that the rain mainly begins in the month of Baishakh and lasts till winter. Nowadays, Sharaban, Bhadra and Aswhin are the months of the rainy season.
during a rainy day the sky remains overcast with clouds. The sun is seldom seen. Thunder roars and lighting flashes. Sometimes it rains for days together, sometimes it rains cats and dogs, and sometime it drizzles. Tanks, ponds, fields and rivers become full to the brim and roads go under water.

The rainy season brings many positive benefits in our country. Paddy and jute grow rapidly in the rainy season. Without regular and adequate rainfall they cannot grow. The time is harvest time also. The rain washes away dirt and filth and makes nature fresh and joyous. The communication by water becomes easy, and it helps the easy growth of trade and commerce, The rhythmic sound of rainfall inspires the heart of a poet . In different languages we find many poems about the beauty of nature in the rainy season. Especially the romantic poets like Rabindranath Tagore sang the glory of rain. Fishes are available in the market this time.
Of course the rainy season cannot offer unmixed blessings. In the rainy season sometimes communication by road becomes dangerous. Roads and villages go under water. The day laborers do not find any job, so the poor suffer much for want of food. Many dreadful diseases like malaria, dysentery and diarrhea break out in many places. Sometimes heavy rainfall causes flood and havoc. Standing crops are also destroyed.
Despite all its disadvantages, the rainy season tin Bangladesh is the most useful season. Without adequate water Bangladesh cannot grow crops. Hence the rainy season comes to us as the greatest blessing. And because of this I like the rainy season best.
